  • Make your New Year’s resolutions ‘SMART’ ~ FOX News

Beloved, are you thinking, “I can’t wait until this year is over?” “Maybe next year will be better. Next year I’ll make time to do things I’ve always wanted to do!” It’s easy to be lulled into thinking that the years ahead will be the “best years” and that if you make a list, and stick to it, your life will improve.

The problem with these reveries is that the “best years” aren’t ahead; they’re here and now! One of Satan’s most subtle tactics is not only to keep us in bondage to the past-but to the future as well! He distracts you by making you waste away your time by thinking about how great things are going to be in the future.

This makes you lose focus about doing anything to change the here-and-now! He loves to see you use daydreams as an escape hatch to avoid doing what God has called you to do today.!

God wants you immersed in the present, working hand-in-hand with Him every day as His agent of creativity and change. As the psalmist sang, This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24). Pay intentional attention to the present.

Beloved, I want to present a new challenge to your life, and with it, I am going to dare you to step out in a new commitment of faith in Jesus Christ, and see things accomplished in your life and through your ministry that you only dreamed were possible.

As we move out in God, and as we begin to dare to do things with and for Him, I believe with all of my heart that our entire lives–physically, spiritually, and materially–will never, ever be the same again.

… but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

Daniel 11:32

Today, I challenge you to take the following seven steps:

Pray. Stop what you’re doing. Take 20-30 minutes away from every distraction in your life and talk with God about how He wants to use you, today. A person’s steps are directed by the LORD. How then can anyone understand their own way (Proverbs 20:24, NIV)?

Commit. Make a vow to read the Bible each and every day. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (II Timothy 3:16-17, NIV).

Listen. Hear the voice of God as he instructs you on how you can serve Him. Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: (Matthew 7:24, NKJV).

Obey. Do what God tells you. As you follow His instructions, your path will become clear. He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it” (Luke 11:28, NIV).

Recognize the vision. God’s destiny for each of us is to manifest to the world the fullness of all that He has provided for us through Christ: salvation, healing, deliverance, overcoming power, strength, authority, and dominion. Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he (Proverbs 29:18).

Let God use the unusable in you. God’s destiny for your life is for you to be perfected and equipped to do His work and fulfill His purposes. His will is for you to grow to full spiritual maturity in Jesus Christ. We are to work the greater works of God. Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? (John 6:28).

Develop spiritual endurance. We live in two worlds. We live in the natural world, and we live in the spiritual world. The things that manifest in the natural world are a reflection of what is happening in the spiritual world. Your ability to endure during the storms and trials of life will affect your capability to reach your God-given destiny. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise: (Hebrews 10:36, NKJV).

As you take these steps, and receive TODAY the instruction of God, you will begin to visualize and accomplish things in your life, and through your ministry, which before you thought were unimaginable. Once you see into the invisible, you’ll dare to do the impossible! ~Morris Cerullo

Beloved, as we enter into 2018, don’t get trapped into relying on the future for your happiness. God wants you to work hand-in-hand with Him, TODAY! When you focus on Christ, He then has your attention and is able to guide and instruct you in His ways. Be mindful of His instruction and apply it in the present, not dwelling on what may lie ahead.

Say this faith declaration out loud: Heavenly Father, praise You for Your Word and Instruction. Please, forgive me when I become lost in the future … not living for You fully, today. Keep me aware that this is the day You have made and help me to rejoice and be glad in it, focusing on being an overcomer today, so that my tomorrows will all be for me with You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
