Jesus came to SET AT LIBERTY those who are bruised. There is healing for your memories! There is healing for your deep hurts! There is healing for your emotions! You can let go of the past and be set free to experience TOTAL WHOLENESS in your life.
To release your past, you must first get rid of the feelings that bind you to the past—anger, resentment, bitterness, hatred, unforgiveness, self-pity, and any other negative feelings. You must take authority over your feelings and emotions and bring them into submission with the Holy Spirit.
Then you must bring your past … with its sin, hurts, disappointments, and failures … to the cross. Through the one perfect sacrifice of Jesus’ own life, Christ condemned sin and set us free from its bondage, including our past. We are dead to sin, and we are set free to live a triumphant life through all that Jesus died to give us.
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
I Peter 2:24
Paul told the Romans:
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
Romans 8:3
Jesus paid the ultimate price. He offered Himself up as a sacrifice so that the power of sin over us would be broken and we would no longer be controlled by our flesh. We owe a debt. Our lives are no longer our own to live according to our desires, to please ourselves.
Paul said:
Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
Romans 8:12-13
Satan has gained a major stronghold in the lives of many Christians today, because they are living their life ACCORDING TO THEIR FEELINGS. They are ruled by their feelings and emotions. They base their actions on HOW THEY FEEL instead of what the Word of God says.
Beloved, God has placed His Spirit within us and has planned that our souls and bodies be regulated and controlled by His Spirit … NOT by our FEELINGS or the dictates of our flesh. Our spirits, which have been infused and empowered by the dunamis power of God, are to RULE over our souls and bodies. We are to live our lives according to the Spirit of God within us.
Say this faith declaration out loud: Father, I receive healing for the deep hurts in my life. I won’t hold on to them any longer. Jesus has paid the price so that I can be set free. I will go forward in the victory that has already been won for me. Hallelujah!
Scripture Reading:
