Societal issues directly and indirectly affect our personal finances. And financial woes cause a whole slew of other issues, such as marital problems. But did you know that God wants you to prosper in every area of your life – physically, mentally, spiritually, and financially?
Eighty percent of the letters that I receive in my office concern financial problems; that is how I know that many people struggle in this area of their lives. But, God did not intend for His children to suffer lack of any kind. Listen to what 3 John 2 says: Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
In this Scripture, God reveals His desire for you to prosper, be in good health, and for your mind, body, soul, and spirit – including your finances – to be kept healthy, even as He has provided for the salvation of your soul!
It is time for spiritual harvest in every area of your life … and that includes finances. This is God’s will for you. Regardless of the financial pressures you face, before you can experience the breakthrough you need, you must know it is God’s will that you prosper. Whatever crises you face regarding your finances, you must take your eyes off your circumstances, set your focus on God as your divine source of provision, and act upon God’s promises to you in His Word.
You must face your financial problems with a solid scriptural foundation concerning God’s will for your finances. If you are not convinced that it is God’s will to supply your needs and prosper you, then when Satan attacks your finances, your faith will waver and you will begin to worry. You must settle in your heart and mind … to know beyond a shadow of a doubt … that God wants you to prosper.
There are specific reasons why some people do not move into their end-time financial harvest:
- Some don’t believe that God wants them to prosper financially.
- Some continue to rely on their own ability instead of the supernatural power of God.
- Some refuse to sow during times of crisis.
- Some wait too long and the timing of the anointing passes them by.
You may have struggled with financial problems so long that you have given up hope of anything ever changing. Remember the crippled man at the pool of Bethesda? He had given up all hope of getting well, but then one day … in the perfect timing of God … he got his breakthrough. He was totally healed, took up his bed, and walked! God wants to touch your finances in the same way. Don’t lose hope!
Say this faith declaration out loud: Father, I turn my financial issues over to you. I thank you that through the finished work on the cross, I can prosper in my finances, health, relationships, and every other area of my life. IT IS YOUR WILL! Hallelujah! I will not lose hope. I will meditate on Your Word day and night so that it becomes rooted and grounded in my heart. Amen.
