In times of trial and tribulation, what do you stand on? What do you stand for? I pray you answered, “the Word” and shortly thereafter, “faith,” without hesitation.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous; but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
Psalm 34:19
After more than 600 days, Andrew Brunson has been released from Turkish prison, but must remain in Turkey on house arrest until his court proceedings reconvene in October. Brunson, 50, a native of North Carolina and an evangelical Presbyterian pastor, worked in Izmir. With his wife and three children, he was a pastor at the Izmir Resurrection Church on Turkey’s Aegean coast for more than 23 years.
An American citizen and a man of faith, Brunson was in contact with a wide range of people in this country. This led to misinterpretation by the Turkish government, with accusations of espionage and affiliation with a terrorist organization that attempted to overthrow their government in July of 2016.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

“I know that his faith will sustain him,” Vice President Mike Pence said. “But it shouldn’t have to.” U.S. government officials, witnesses, and followers stand behind Brunson, defending him as an honorable man of God. He withstood the trial of Turkish prison; yet, he now battles sickness and a life sentence of 35 years in prison if convicted. His battle is not over. His faith must remain in the promises of God.
The Word of God is infallible. That means it will never fail you. The Word of God makes you impregnable. That means the devil can throw anything and everything at you that he wants to, but you cannot be shaken, because YOUR FAITH IS FIXED ON THAT WHICH WILL NEVER FAIL!
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Hebrews 11:6
Every blessing that we receive from God comes to us through faith. We are saved by faith. We are healed by faith. We live by faith … all things come to us by faith.
I have seen so many people struggle for faith. Some feel if they tell themselves often enough that they have faith, eventually it will become a reality. You can say, “I have faith, I have faith,” from now until your last breath and it will not increase the measure of your faith.

Matthew 5:45
Early in my ministry, God gave me a little saying that has been an eye-opener to tens of thousands of people around the world concerning faith. It is this:
FAITH IS A FACT, BUT FAITH IS AN ACT.
If you want something to repeat over and over again, try that one until it really sinks in.
Jesus said … the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life (John 6:63). The Bible says, … for the letter killeth but the spirit giveth life (II Corinthians 3:6). What does that tell us? If the Word is in us and does not produce action, then it has not been quickened by the Holy Spirit. But if the Word that we have received has been quickened by the Holy Spirit, it has to produce life … and it has to produce action.
This is revolutionary!
Faith is action! Faith is positive! I believe in acting on the Word. The greatest revelation in the world is worthless unless it motivates you to do something about it. I am not interested in tickling people’s ears. I want to see them so moved by the Holy Spirit that they cannot sit still, but they have to get out and put into practice what the Holy Spirit has taught them.
In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
James 2:17, NIV

Say this faith declaration out loud: I will act upon the Word. I will put into practice what the Holy Spirit is teaching me. I will trust in Almighty God.
