Throughout the Bible, we have story after story where God takes a nobody and makes somebody. God likes to take nothing and make something. That’s His nature because He is a creative God! God used ordinary people to do great things and the only reason that we know about these ordinary people is because of what God did through them.
The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.

Look at my life … an orthodox Jew abandoned in an orphanage. God spoke life into me through a caregiver. This is the most unexpected beginning for a young, lost boy, transformed by the Word of God to become a torch-bearer to the nations for over seventy years, spreading the very Gospel that reached down to me … a twelve-year old orphan boy … and pulled me from the muck and mire into a life of divine destiny.

God doesn’t call the equipped, He equips the called. He is not waiting for you to learn something new or even become something more than you are now. God is looking for willing people that want to turn this world upside down for Him. Sometimes, we think we simply don’t have the time, dedication, or the necessary skills to do what God has called us to do.
Whatever is holding you back from your calling, God tells us to cast it away. You are already equipped in the Name of Jesus. He made you for a moment such as this.
Perhaps you have come to royal dignity for just such a time as this.

Perhaps, your calling is to engage our youth in the Word … in the Gospel … to be the driving force and guidance they need to learn about the love of Jesus, and self-exploration within the tales, the truths, the parables of the Bible … the plunders and victories of those that came before them, and the unconditional love of the Lord.
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

Looking back, you will reflect on all the people you affected on your journey with Christ and know that it was Him, and not you, that changed their lives. Ask yourself: “What is God calling me to do?” We are God’s foot soldiers and He has called us to change the world with His message. He created us to be His hands and feet and WE need to do something, with His Spirit leading and guiding us.
Imagine your child enthralled in the midst of the images jumping off the page, and the page-turning excitement to find the light out of the darkness … all to discover the moral of the stories are biblical in nature. As a parent, and now grandparent, I want more of this for my children and grandchildren. As God’s faithful servant, I want more God for all of us.
