What an extraordinary Christmas season has been held by the Cerullo household, and that of those in God’s Victorious Army!
It is God’s will that your entire being … spirit, soul, and body … be made totally whole and be preserved blameless until Christ’s return. Paul prayed for the believers in the Church in Thessalonica:
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
I Thessalonians 5:23-24
Circle the words “wholly” and “whole” in this verse. The word “wholly” is translated from the Greek word holoteles, which means “whole, complete through and through.”
Paul prayed that the believers would be wholly sanctified … that the WHOLE man be sanctified in every aspect of his being–spirit, soul, and body. He was speaking of the ultimate spiritual maturity God has planned for us, where every aspect of our being is made 100 percent whole and brought under the control of God’s Spirit within us.
Paul prayed for the Ephesian church the following prayer:
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance to the saints.
Ephesians 1:17-18
In these verses, Paul was not praying for the natural mind, with its ability to reason and understand. The natural mind cannot receive and know the things of God. They are SPIRITUALLY DISCERNED! This is a function of our spirits, not our natural minds.
Paul told the Corinthian believers:
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
I Corinthians 2:12-14
Through God’s Spirit living within our SPIRITS, we are able to KNOW the things God HAS FREELY GIVEN US!
By His Spirit within us, we have a spirit of wisdom, and revelation and are able to discern spiritual truths that are not according to man’s wisdom, but according to God’s wisdom!

Through the spirit of wisdom and revelation, I discern spiritual truths according to God’s wisdom and revelation, and discern those of man! I praise and give thanks for the special ability with which God has blessed me!
