To be able to HEAR, RECOGNIZE, and RESPOND to God’s voice, you must develop your relationship with Christ … totally yielding yourself to Him, straining your spiritual ears to hear Him as He speaks … and ready to respond in faith and obedience.
Christ longs to enter into an intimate fellowship with you where He is:
- Continually revealing more of Himself
- Giving you the direction you need
- Imparting His strength and wisdom into your life
- Opening your heart to Him and sharing your innermost thoughts, needs, and desires
He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Matthew 11:15
It is God who opens our ears to hear His voice! He has given you a supernatural ability to hear and know His voice. He has placed the Holy Spirit within you, through whom He reveals Himself, His mind, and His will. The Holy Spirit speaks to you whatever Christ directs Him to speak.
Howbeit, when he, the Spirit of Truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak; and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it to you.
John 16:13-14
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to take one step or make one plan until I have waited before the Lord and have heard His voice. God never intended His people to flounder around or grope in the dark to know His direction and leading. He has planned for you to come into His Presence and wait upon Him until you hear His voice clearly. He has planned for you to seek Him and draw upon His wisdom.
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6
As you come before Him in seasons of prayer, He will direct you. You will hear His voice and know the way you are to go. When you KNOW God has spoken to you, you have a solid foundation from which you will never be moved or shaken! We KNOW all that He has spoken will come to pass!
