  • God tells us how to access the tree of life, to get victory in every aspect of our lives!

When the tree of life is mentioned, most people think of the physical tree that was located in the Garden of Eden. Since Adam’s fall, we no longer have access to that tree, but the Bible refers to three other sources as trees of life: wisdom, the tongue, and winning lost souls.

This is how the Book of Proverbs describes wisdom:

She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.

Proverbs 3:15-18

Wow, look what the Word guarantees us if we walk in the wisdom of God—long life, prosperity, honor, joy, and peace. No wonder wisdom is referred to as a tree of life!

“But Brother Cerullo,” you may ask, “how do I get this wisdom?” Beloved, by studying the Word of God and meditating on it day and night. It truly is the very best guidebook for you to follow to experience the most successful and joy-filled life possible. And when I say “successful,” I am not just talking about finances, but about overall success—in relationships, health, ministry, and every area of your life.

The Book of Proverbs also describes the tongue as a tree of life: A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit (Proverbs 15:4). A “wholesome” tongue is one that speaks in alignment with the Word of God. “Perverseness” is any speech that contradicts the Word of God. As an example, if you go around saying “I am sick” when the Word says that by His stripes you are healed, then there is perverseness in your tongue, and any perverseness can open the door to the enemy.

The Word also tells us that the type of fruit that the righteous produce is a tree of life: The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise (Proverbs 11:30). When we do the works of the Lord, we are also partaking of that life source.

So, to summarize, by living, speaking, and doing the Word of God, we automatically partake of the tree of life and walk in victory! This may seem difficult at first glance, and it will take time and effort, but beloved, it will radically change your life for the better! So, get started now, and just imagine where you will be by this time next year.

Say this faith declaration out loud: Father, as I partake of these life sources, I know that blessings abundant will come upon me and overtake me. I am blessed going out and blessed coming in. Everything I set my hand to prospers.

Scripture Reading:

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

James 1:5-6

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

James 3:17

For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
