New Year’s Resolutions:

  • Wake up rejoicing every day, for today is the day that the Lord has made.
  • Spend time in prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving.
  • In every situation, continually give thanks to God, your provider.

Let 2016 be a year of repentance, reflection, and restitution. May you be equipped with every good thing, that you may carry out His will for your life and receive every promise that has been laid up for you since before the foundation of the world.

2016 is a brand new year, and comes with the opportunity for change, growth, and blessings. If you determine this day that you will dedicate 2016 to the Lord, and endeavor to walk in His ways, you will encounter blessings upon blessings.

Keep the charge of the Lord your God, [that is, fulfill your obligation to] walk in His ways, keep His statutes, His commandments, His precepts, and His testimonies . . . so that you may succeed in everything that you do . . .

I Kings 2:3, AMP

Notice that in order for you to be successful, you must walk in the ways of the Lord. You must diligently seek Him, obey him, and trust Him.

To have victory in 2016, look to the Word for guidance:

First, your victory will come as you humble yourself before the Lord with an attitude of repentance:

Humble yourselves [with an attitude of repentance and insignificance] in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you [He will lift you up, He will give you purpose].

James 4:10, AMP

Second, reflect on His Word for the wisdom and guidance that you will need as you make every important decision:

The wise will hear and increase their learning, And the person of understanding will acquire wise counsel and the skill [to steer his course wisely and lead others to the truth] . . . The [reverent] fear of the Lord [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] is the beginning and the preeminent part of knowledge [its starting point and its essence]; But arrogant fools despise [skillful and godly] wisdom and instruction and self-discipline.

Proverbs 1:5, 7, AMP

Third, earnestly seek the Lord for full restitution of everything that has been stolen from you by the enemy:

. . . For the Lord is a God of [just] restitution; He will fully repay.

Jeremiah 51:56, AMP

If you will heed these words, 2016 will truly be a prosperous year for you—healing prosperity, financial prosperity, relationship prosperity, ministry prosperity . . .

Say this faith declaration out loud: Father, I dedicate 2016 to You. I will endeavor to spend time daily rejoicing, seeking You, and remembering to be thankful for all of the good things You have done for me and my family. I will seek You with a repentant heart, and I will search Your Word for guidance in all matters. And I thank You, Father, for restitution of all that the enemy has stolen from me. I confess that 2016 is a year of great blessings, for as I grow closer to You, You grow closer to me. Amen.

Scripture Reading:

Now may the God of peace [the source of serenity and spiritual well-being] who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood that sealed and ratified the eternal covenant,  equip you with every good thing to carry out His will and strengthen you [making you complete and perfect as you ought to be], accomplishing in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Hebrews 13:20-21, AMP

In the days of His earthly life, Jesus offered up both [specific] petitions and [urgent]  supplications [for that which He needed] with fervent crying and tears to the One who was [always] able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverent submission toward God [His sinlessness and His unfailing determination to do the Father’s will].

Hebrews 5:7, AMP

But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.

Matthew 6:33, AMP
