The Church is in serious decay and many are wondering if there is any hope left to rebuild it.
With the ever-increasing threat of World War III, more terrorist attacks, and a devastating financial collapse, many are wondering why the prayers of the saints aren’t being heard. Perhaps it is because the Church itself has been under heavy attack and has been slowly slipping into the grasp of Satan.
The Church seems to have forgotten its position of authority, and has allowed darkness to become the ruling force.
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
Romans 6:16
More and more churches today are giving in to the demands of the people to preach a “coexist” type of message. As they do, the Church as a whole becomes weaker and weaker. With every act of “tolerance,” we move further from the Lord.
And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.
II Thessalonians 3:14-15
The Word is clear that we aren’t even to keep company with a person who is not being obedient to God. Why, then, are our churches disregarding the specific direction of the Lord?
In I Corinthians 5, the church was admonished for allowing a man who had slept with his step-mother to remain in church. Paul told the church to deliver the man over to Satan for the destruction of his flesh, that his spirit may be saved.
Paul said: Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? (I Corinthians 5:6).
It is important that the Church understand that a little bit of sin can corrupt an entire congregation. Thus, there should be no tolerance for sin in the Church or in our homes. Sin is like cancer—just a little bit can spread and affect an entire body.
Say this faith declaration out loud: I will put the Lord’s Word above every circumstance and every relationship. If someone I know has strayed from the Word, I will pray for them, but I will not keep company with them. I confess that Jesus is Lord, and His Word is what rules my life. I will be obedient to Him by refusing to allow sin into my home, my ministry, or any other aspect of my life.
