Purim, celebrated on the 14th of Adar, is the most fun-filled, action-packed day of the Jewish year. Purim 2019 begins on Wednesday night, March 20, and continues through Thursday, March 21. The festival commemorates the salvation of the Jewish people in ancient Persia from Haman’s plot “to destroy, kill and annihilate all the Jews, young and old, infants and women, in a single day,” as recorded in the Book of Esther.

The Book of Esther holds a great many truths of the manifestation of God overlooking His people and showing up in unforeseen ways through ordinary people. Esther was a Jew, simply crowned as a queen for her natural beauty, for such a time as this.

For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

Esther 4:14, NIV

Esther, revered for her beauty, manifests herself as a woman of great sacrifice as she wins the heart of her king to save her people. Hidden behind great wealth and fortune, she conceals her true identity until a pivotal point in our biblical history, in which she places her own life and that of a family member, Mordecai, in great danger to rescue her people, the Jews.

“Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!”

Esther 4:16, NKJV

But the essence of the story of Purim is that no matter how dire your circumstances, always trust God.
This truth allowed Queen Esther to put her life on the line and trust that even facing death for her actions would only mean death here on earth.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Hebrews 13:8, NKJV

All truth is parallel. What God did then, He can do now. Just like Queen Esther, you have been created for a reason. There is a reason for your life. Don’t rely on the natural … rely on the supernatural. Call on God. It is not by might, it is not by power, but by the Holy Spirit! (Zechariah 4:6)

Say this faith declaration out loud:

Father, I trust You, and only You, with my life and the lives of my loved ones. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever.
