Be Revived
Is there anyone who has not felt the need to be revived from time to time? I know I have!
In fact, even as you climb into bed tonight you may be praying, "Lord, why do I have such long dry spells? How long will it be before I feel strong and refreshed again? My heart needs to be revived!"
Trust me when I say, "It's coming!" I've watched many saints, even church leaders and entire ministries, go through these dry spells. During these times some have even felt stricken and torn, but I've also noticed that they always come out stronger, cleaner and closer to the Lord than ever before.
Sometimes the Lord is like a surgeon who must make incisions in order to perform a surgery. For this we need to be still. Dry spells have their place! "The prophet Hosea described this process by saying:
"Come, and let us return to the Lord; for He has torn so that He may heal us; He has stricken so that He may bind us up. After two days He will revive us-quicken us, give us life; on the third day He will raise us up, that we may live before Him" (Hosea 6:1-2, AMP).
So be encouraged tonight; your dry spell won't last forever. Even if you feel torn or stricken, it will also end. Know that it wouldn't be happening if the Lord didn't intend to heal your soul, bind your wounds, and revive you!
God loves you and wants to answer your prayer. Say this prayer with me:
Heavenly Father, I thank You that You are completing a deep work within me, even in ways I don't understand. I now rest in the assurance that my dryness and pain will only last for a measured number of days, and that my time is in Your hands. I rejoice in the fact that, in Your time, You will quicken me, give me fresh life, and raise me up again! In Jesus' Name, Amen.
