New Every Morning
I once saw a child get up in the morning feeling totally dejected. He shuffled around, could hardly eat his cereal, and had no interest in playing. What was wrong?
He'd done something bad the night before and was still carrying it around with him.
"Well," you might say, "didn't anyone tell him he was forgiven?"
Yes, but that's not all there is to it. He had not yet learned about the Lord's power to pick him up from where he had fallen. He didn't know that the Lord's mercies are new every morning, and that He is faithful, not only to forgive, but to RESTORE.
What about you? Will you awaken in the morning still oppressed by the heaviness of today's wrongdoing? If so, then you too, must experience that fact that, "Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness" (Lamentations 3:22-23, NKJV).
Believe in His desire to restore you tonight after you've repented and been forgiven. Don't let bad feelings about yourself drag into tomorrow. Let Him miraculously cleanse and restore you, and His mercies will be new every morning. Praise His faithfulness!
God loves you and wants to answer your prayer. Say this prayer with me:
Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your mercy which continually heals and restores. Although I have done wrong today, I want to awaken tomorrow cleansed and refreshed. So I repent before You now, renounce the sin, and accept the power of Your love which not only forgives, but restores! I rejoice in Your faithfulness toward me. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
