  • Confess God’s Promises: Let Your Mouth Help You Move Forward ~Charisma Magazine

Beloved, are you wondering why your prayers don’t seem to get answered? Are you praying the problem, or the promise? The spoken Word carries an awesome creative power. Today, we will discover the principles that God has established that will enable you to speak His promises with His guarantee for their fulfillment.

Your faith must be steadfast in both your heart, and on your lips! It’s time to fix your faith on God’s promises and confess them boldly over your health, your family, your finances, your inheritance, and your ministry.

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

Hebrews 10:23

When I say that God’s Word is the final word, it is not just a saying but a reality, and it is borne out of a very real experience.

A minister friend of mine and his lovely wife gave birth to a baby girl, Lisa. What should have been a time of great joy was instead a time of great sorrow, because the doctors gave them the sad news that Lisa was born with a muscular defect.

That muscular defect was very similar to cerebral palsy. For five months, they watched Lisa lie in her crib and never lift her head. Every day, this minister would look over his little baby.

Then, one day, he went into his study and opened his Bible. He began to seek God like he never had before. He read the New Testament over, and over, again.

As he read, something became alive to this minister. He saw a Christ so filled and so moved with compassion for the needs of the people, that his spiritual eyes were opened. He was gloriously filled with the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. He began to see Christ as He really is. Jesus Christ never “was,” and Jesus Christ never “shall be.” Jesus Christ always is.

On that day, my friend determined that the miracle needed by that little child of theirs … who had been born hopeless and helpless, and was given up on by the pediatricians … the miracle of that baby’s healing was theirs.

He based that determination upon the promises and the authority of the Word of God. The promise was in his heart and he told me, “Morris, the miracle of God was in our mouths and what we had to do was to confess that promise out.”

He and his wife took the promises of God, and spoke them out over their daughter lying on that bed, every day, many times a day.

    • They said, “With His stripes she is healed.” (See Isaiah 53:5).
    • They took the Word, … they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover (Mark 16:18).
    • They laid hands on her and they confessed the promise out, Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands … (I Timothy 4:14)

.

    • They confessed the promise out, … whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do … (John 14:13)

.

Beloved, they did this for months. They did not let their faith waver. They did not question God’s timing.
When parishioners of the church asked, “How is your daughter?” They proclaimed, “She is healed.”

Lisa was born with a muscular defect and hadn’t moved her head in five months, and here was the pastor going around saying, “She’s healed.” “She’s healed.” “She’s healed.” Doctors had told them that if a child is in this condition for seven months, they mark it off as a completely hopeless situation.

It got down to just a few days before the seventh month and little Lisa did something she was unable to do before—she turned over all by herself! Two days later she sat up all by herself!

Lisa was healed when someone dared to confess out the promises of God! In high school, she was an honor roll student and today, is perfectly normal in every way, from the crown of her head to the soles of her feet.

The doctors in Houston, Texas, have recorded the word “Miracle” on her case file.

The miracle that took place for my minister friend was the result of the confession of God’s promises that they made. As they confessed the promise out, it brought them the miracle they needed.

I thank God for the many good doctors who are seeking to alleviate the physical suffering of people. I especially thank God for the good, Christian doctors who pray over their patients and seek God’s guidance, as they minister the skills they have learned.

But, I want you to know that no human power has the final word. No diagnostician, no pediatrician, no brain specialist, no lung specialist, no cancer specialist … no human being has the final word on anything. God has the final word.

Beloved, it was only when my friend looked beyond what the doctors had said and saw that God’s Word was the final word—when he took that Word and confessed the promises of God out—he found the miracle he needed for his daughter’s life. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them (Mark 11:24).

Say this faith declaration out loud: Father, thank You for Your promises. Thank You for caring for me. I will confess out Your promises in faith, so that I can receive them. I will confess strength, freedom, health, wisdom, a sound mind, boldness, financial security, triumph, and all things by Your power, in faith. Amen.
