  • God’s power is inexhaustible ~The Selma-Times Journal

Beloved, do you believe that God is bringing you to a new position of power and authority? That the greatest outpouring of God’s Spirit is yet to come? Believe God’s prophet when I tell you that in the next few years, we will see great manifestations of God’s power and glory.

Take your position of power and authority as a child of God and a joint–heir with Christ. Jesus has restored you to a position of dominion over Satan, but you must exercise that authority. Do not become vulnerable to his attacks.

And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

Luke 24:49

The day of Pentecost marked a new era for God’s people and the world. God ushered in a new era by pouring out the new wine of the Holy Spirit. We still have not seen the fullness of the power of Pentecost, or the true Baptism of the Holy Spirit, but something is happening now. God is saying: I’m doing a new work among My people. There will be a new release of My supernatural power!

Jesus told the disciples:

He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

John 14:12–13

When Peter saw the lame man lying at the gate of the temple, he did not hesitate to help him. He knew that he had received the dunamis, miracle-working power of God. He did not wonder what he should do. With power and authority, he commanded the man to get up, in the Name of Jesus:

… Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

Acts 3:6

The words that Peter spoke were not his own words. They were spoken in the power and authority of the Holy Spirit within him. God’s Word—spoken with authority and invested in His promises—will bring about the manifestation of miracles.

Immediately, the man was healed! He entered the temple and began walking, and leaping, and praising God! There was no doubt that this man had been instantly and miraculously healed by God’s power!

Peter preached that Jesus had been resurrected and that He was the only way to be reunited with the Father. He produced the proof [the undeniable, visible evidence] that Jesus had been resurrected by healing the lame man, using the power and authority of Jesus’ Name.

Peter focused his message on Christ’s resurrection from the dead. He professed that he and John were witnesses of Jesus’ resurrection. Then, they produced EVIDENCE. Here it is: This man, walking, leaping, and praising God, is the evidence. He was healed through faith in Jesus’ Name.

Beloved, the word witness refers to “one who can or does verify or prove what they have seen or heard.” It further means “to give or to furnish evidence” and “one who demonstrates, substantiates, or verifies their testimony with an exhibition of evidence.”

As the disciples and believers exercised the power of the Holy Spirit to heal the sick, cast out devils, and raise the dead, they were giving witness to the resurrection of Jesus Christ and giving undeniable proof that Jesus is Who He claims to be, the Son of the living God.

And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people;

Acts 5:12

The apostles were witnesses. It was not by the words that they spoke, but by the evidence that they demonstrated through supernatural signs and wonders that followed their preaching in the Name of Jesus. The lame walked. Blind eyes were opened. Demons were cast out. The dead were raised.

They did not just preach the gospel; they demonstrated the power behind the message. Paul said:

And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

I Corinthians 2:4

Beloved, you can command this same power, in Jesus’ Name. The true power of Pentecost is the power to proclaim the Gospel, combined with a demonstration of God’s miracle–working power. God has destined you to be a man or woman of power and authority through whom He can manifest His supernatural power. Through you, God wants to heal the sick, cast out devils, raise the dead, and fulfill His will in this end–time hour.

Say this faith declaration out loud: Father, thank You for the power of the Holy Spirit manifested at Pentecost. I am a child of God and joint–heir with Jesus. I claim the power and authority that belongs to me, through which You can manifest Your supernatural miracles. I know that the greatest power on earth today is the Holy Ghost and Jesus Christ living within me. Amen.
