- The GOLDEN KEY to open the door to receive the blessings of the Lord is to reside in a place called “THERE.”
“There” is the place that God has ordained for you to be. It is there that He will pour out His blessings for you. It is there where you will find favor, abundance, and prosperity.
Beloved, do you know where “there” is? Do you know exactly where God has ordained for you to be – what city, what home, what job, what spouse? If not, then before you make another move, get into prayer and fellowship with your heavenly Father and find out where He wants you.
When the prophet Elijah declared to the evil king Ahab that there would be a drought for 3½ years, the Lord sent Elijah to a specific place where he would be taken care of.
And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there (I Kings 17:4).
Beloved, in this place called “there,” there was not abundance during the time of drought, but the Lord made adequate provision for his servant Elijah.
And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook (I Kings 17:6).
Sometimes there will be a drought, but do not mistake that as an indication to go somewhere else. The Lord will protect you during that time. Those who are not listening to the Lord, though, will move on to what they think are greener pastures, and they will miss out on the blessings of the Lord. Remember, just because something looks better on the surface does not mean that it is.
Consider the story of Lot and Abram. When it came time for the two to separate, Abram told Lot to choose whatever land he wanted, and Abram would then go in the opposite direction.
And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt … Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other. Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom. But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly. And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.
Genesis 13:10-15
Because Abram followed the voice of the Lord instead of the lust of his eyes, he was blessed abundantly, and Lot eventually had to flee his land and lost everything.
Beloved, if you have faith that you are where you are supposed to be, even if there is a drought in your life, stay put, as the Lord will bless you even in a dry brook, according to your confidence in Him.
We must all learn to thank Him for wanted and unwanted situations, for this act frees us from resentment and allows His Word to energize us. The psalmist wrote: This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24). To truly prosper, we must find joy during the days of drought, and learn to live within its boundaries, knowing that eventually the drought will end. Your steadfastness during this time will then allow the Lord to move you into a new place where the blessings will flow. And do not discount the journey, for it leads to prosperity and knowledge.
Please understand the importance of this, of being in the place that God has ordained for you. If you are not in the right place, you can pray and pray, and not see the answers you are seeking. The golden key to receive blessings is to be where the Lord wants you.
The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Deuteronomy 28:8
Say this faith declaration out loud: Father, I thank You, that even in a time of drought, You sustain me. I have confidence in where You have put me, and I will stay put until You specifically lead me elsewhere. I trust You over what I can see with my natural eyes. I give You praise. Amen.
Scripture Reading:
And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee. The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow. And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them: And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
Deuteronomy 28:11-14
