- As the Church sleeps, evil is sweeping through the land, stealing and destroying health, joy, and families.
While you sleep, the enemy slips in, undetected, to plant traps in your pathway that cause you to stumble. The way to defeat him is to remain vigilant, praying without ceasing, keeping our eyes focused on the One Who sits on the throne—the King of kings, the Lord of lords—Jesus.
God wants you to know that regardless of the persecution which will come into your life today or in the future, He is in control. There is no circumstance, there is no trial, there is no test, there is no persecution that Satan can bring into your life that can defeat you!
When the enemy comes against you, you can be filled with spiritual knowledge because . . .
… the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
I John 2:27
Christians are not exempt from the attacks of the enemy, but we are the only ones who can be prepared, equipped, and empowered to defeat him. Let the anointing of God burn this spiritual truth into your heart. Your position during every test, trial, and temptation should not be one of fear, discouragement, or weakness. Rather, it should be one of power, complete confidence, and victory.
Thousands of Christians have fallen victim to Satan’s deadliest snares and are totally unaware of what has happened to them. Using his most subtle strategies, Satan has caused Christians to fall into a sleep of spiritual apathy and complacency. The devil tries to be subtle in his lies so that many Christians are unaware of his movements and have a false sense of their security concerning their own spiritual condition.
Today, the Church is filled with Christians like the early disciples who fell asleep when Jesus asked them to pray (Luke 22:39-46). When the soldiers came to arrest Jesus, the disciples fled in defeat. They had fallen asleep spiritually and were not prepared for the time of temptation.
Many Christians today attend and serve in the church regularly and pay their tithes, but they are unaware of what is happening in the spiritual realm. They are not prepared to recognize the signs of the times.
God’s message to those who find themselves in this sleep is, “Why are you sleeping? Arise and pray, lest you enter into temptation.”
Say this faith declaration out loud: Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for giving me revelation of the signs of the times and the spiritual wickedness that lurks in the darkness. Thank you for giving me spiritual eyesight that I might see the evil plans that the enemy has set in my path as a stumbling block. Help me to rise up in Your power, in the Name of Jesus, that I may have victory over every circumstance.
Scripture Reading:
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
I Peter 5:8
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
John 10:10
And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
Romans 13:11-12
