God is not limited by your current circumstances. Don’t try to put God in a box and limit what He will do for you according to your natural understanding or personal desires. Just as He blessed and prospered Esther and the Jewish people, He will give you favor with people on the job, in your community, and everywhere you go.

Let’s take a look at the story of Esther for inspiration. It’s a story of deliverance and destiny. God took Esther from obscurity, placed her in a position of prominence and wealth, and used her to save the Jewish people from destruction. She rose from extremely humble beginnings as an orphan to become the Queen of Persia, which was the largest empire the world had known. When the king made it known that he was searching for a new queen, God gave her favor – first with the king’s chief servant, and then with the king himself.

And the maiden pleased him, and she obtained kindness of him; and he speedily gave her her things for purification, with such things as belonged to her, and seven maidens, which were meet to be given her, out of the king’s house: and he preferred her and her maids unto the best place of the house of the women … Now when every maid’s turn was come to go in to king Ahasuerus, after that she had been twelve months, according to the manner of the women … Then thus came every maiden unto the king; whatsoever she desired was given her to go with her out of the house of the women unto the king’s house … Now when the turn of Esther … was come to go in unto the king, she required nothing but what Hegai the king’s chamberlain, the keeper of the women, appointed. And Esther obtained favour in the sight of all them that looked upon her … And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen …

Esther 2:9, 12, 13, 15, 17

When Queen Esther later learned of a plot by Haman, a person of great power in the king’s palace, to kill all Jewish people in the kingdom, she prayed and fasted, and then went before the king. This was a dangerous move, because if the king did not accept her presence, he could have her killed.

Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king’s house … And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight … Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what is thy request? it shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom.

Esther 5:1-3

God’s favor helped Esther save her people and as a child of God through Christ Jesus, God’s favor is upon you too! God’s plan is to prosper you and bless all the work of your hands. He loves you dearly, no matter who you are or where you are from.

Say this faith declaration out loud: Father, thank You, that just as Esther had favor with You, so do I. When I yield to You through prayer and fasting, I know that You will supernaturally intervene and fulfill Your will in my life. Thank You for taking me into a place of favor, blessings, and promotion!
