In June, we give honor to our earthly fathers on Father’s Day. We especially lift up all of our Christian fathers in prayer. We ask God to give them wisdom, knowledge, and the love to nurture and raise children in the admonition of the Lord.

Fathers and grandfathers, God has shown me that many men in our generation do not feel capable or qualified to be fathers. Many of you might not feel you truly know what it is to be a father and to take a father’s role in your home in today’s world.

You may struggle being the spiritual head of your home or the leader in natural things. You may not know how to lead without being mean-spirited or demanding authority over your wife and children. Whatever you feel your shortcomings are, God can empower you to be both the leader and supporter — the good, good father — as you should be.

Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will.

Ephesians 1:5

Fathers, rise up and begin to glorify God in your relationship with your family. Ask God for wisdom over your household, your children, your marriage, and your finances. Allow God into your house. Stop hiding or covering up difficulties you may be experiencing behind closed doors. Make your homes a place where God’s Presence may dwell. God is always willing to act on whatever we ask in the Name of Jesus, but the key is that we must ask!

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

John 14:13

Throughout the Bible, we find woven a tapestry of the Fatherhood of God. The heart of God is to communicate to the world, through the family, that He is the Father to us all. Let me share with you the burden on my heart. God wants you to learn directly from Him, as I did, what it means to be a man of God, as a husband and as a father.

Right now, I want to impart this powerful anointing over the fathers and grandfathers. Gather your family around and pray along with me. As I pray this over your life, receive the fatherhood anointing into your life and begin to walk as God intended.

“Dear Heavenly Father, I am calling on You now, in the Name of Jesus Christ, your Son, to impart unto all these men praying along with me now the fatherhood anointing. God, move in their hearts with love and compassion. Give them the ability to kindly speak to their sons and daughters, as You do when You speak to us, Your sons and daughters. Cause them to know what it is to be a true man of God. Shine light on their priorities and bring them together in prayer, in God’s Word, and in quality time spent as a family. I pray that the spirit of reconciliation descends upon every member of the family. Cause the love that these men have for their families to overflow — real, heartfelt love — and bring complete respect by every member of their family back into their house.”

Now to Him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us — to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Ephesians 3:20—21 (HCSB)

As you put your faith in what God has just done in your life through prayer, leave behind any insecurity, mistrust, or anything else that could hinder you from becoming what God desires you to be. Allow the image of Jesus Christ to become the standard by which you grow. Let the power of God move in you!

From my family to yours, Happy Father’s Day! May God continue to bless you, your family, and your home abundantly in peace, love, and unity.

Say this faith declaration out loud: “God will prosper and bless this house, just as He prospered and blessed His chosen people. He has promised to make me abundantly prosperous in all that I do. By faith, I take hold of this promise and speak it forth, now, over my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
