Beloved, I want you to develop a deeper understanding of God’s desire and longing to commune with you and share in your everyday life. Speak to your Father in Heaven and ask to hear His voice at this time. Speak out to those surrounding you in Christian faith and prayer. God is always listening and always faithful.
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Romans 10:17
We were created to have fellowship with God! Our entire existence as sons and daughters of God revolves around hearing and responding to the voice of God. Our relationship with Him is based upon listening to His voice and doing His will. Only through His voice can we know and follow Him.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
John 10:27
He desires and longs to enter into a close, intimate relationship and fellowship with you where you are not just hearing Him occasionally, but where you are continually hearing His voice … communing … talking with Him on a consistent, day-to-day basis!
There are two major requirements for hearing and recognizing God’s voice — you must have a hearing ear and an obedient heart!
But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
Luke 11:28
God has placed within us a supernatural ability to hear and know His voice. Yet, there are many Christians who have such a surface experience with God that even though they may have called themselves Christians, they have never learned to recognize His voice. They depend upon other people to decipher the “Word from the Lord.”
Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.
Isaiah 30:21, NKJV
Those who belong to Jesus can hear His voice and respond to it, even out of a multitude of voices. Beloved, you and I respond in a variety of ways to the voices we hear.
God wants you to know His voice! The spiritual ability to hear and recognize God’s voice … and to discern between the voice of the Spirit, the voice of the devil, and the voice of our natural man means the difference between life and death for us spiritually!
God’s voice is full of power! When God speaks, His words come with the authority and power to fulfill what He has spoken. The single most important thing in your spiritual life is to know, discern, and respond to God’s voice as He speaks to you.
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
Jeremiah 33:3
