Do you have financial problems, a sick body, a failing marriage, or other problems that you have been unable to find a solution for? We have all grown so accustomed to attempting to take care of ourselves that we often forget how powerful and effective prayer can be.
The Bible tells us that … The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.
James 5:16, NASB
Prayer is, without a doubt, the most powerful force on Earth. It is a mighty, spiritual weapon that God has given us to draw near to Him and achieve victory over every circumstance we face.
The Bible gives us countless examples of miracles that were performed through prayer. Here are just a few:
- Five thousand people were fed from just two fish and five loaves of bread, after Jesus prayed. (Matthew 14:13.)
- Lazarus, a man who had been dead for four days, was raised back to life after Jesus prayed. (John 11:44.)
- Abundant rain came forth to break a 3 ½ year drought after Elijah prayed. (James 5:17-18.)
- A powerful army was defeated after King David prayed. (Psalm 18:17-19.)
- Peter, who had been unjustly imprisoned, was released from his chains after the Church had prayed. (Acts 12:5-7.)
Theresa and I have also received countless miracles after times of prayer. I will never forget when my darling wife was at the point of death. The Lord led one of our Partners to pray for her for three days. During those three days, Theresa hovered between life and death. The Partner interceded and Theresa was miraculously healed.
Prayer can transcend the laws of nature, invade the realm of the dead, and restore life. Prayer can give instant access to anywhere – into any home, hospital, office, courtroom, or prison cell.
There are approximately 37,000 promises in God’s Word—from Genesis to Revelation—which make provision for every need we have. He has placed every conceivable blessing for our personal lives, families, cities, and nations before us.
Prayer becomes effective when you enter into a deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Your relationship with Christ is the foundation for your power in prayer.
Jesus said: Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: (Matthew 7:7).
When we draw near to Him, and earnestly seek Him, he ALWAYS hears our prayers.
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
I John 5:14-15
Say this faith declaration out loud: Father, I thank You that You hear my prayers, and answer. Thank You for loving me, and for providing Your written Word to be a source of direction and encouragement in my times of need.
