The Bible is filled with similar accounts of men like Jeremiah who were used mightily by God. As you read their stories, you will find one thing that stands out in each account. Every individual who has been used by God was required to act upon what God directed them to do. They rose up in faith and STEPPED INTO THEIR DESTINIES. At strategic moments in their lives, they responded in faith and acted upon the direction God gave them. They acted upon the Word that was spoken to them.
You will not be able to see what God has planned for your life fulfilled unless you step out in faith.
Look at Jeremiah’s response to the Word of the Lord when God called him forth as a prophet to the nations. He was the son of a priest, estimated to be about twenty years of age, when God called him. Jeremiah told God,
“Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for am only a youth”
Jeremiah 1:6, NKJV
The first thing Jeremiah faced was a natural limitation he placed upon himself. He had a limited concept of what he could do.
Friends, you have a spiritual destiny that God wants to fulfill in your life. Whatever God directs you to do, do not hesitate to obey Him because of your own weaknesses, inabilities, or handicaps. God is not looking at who you are, with all your limitations. He is looking at what He can make of you!
Stop using your weaknesses and inabilities as an excuse! You will STEP INTO YOUR SPIRITUAL DESTINY by looking beyond your natural imitations. Believe God to supernaturally enable you to do all that He has asked you to do in order to fulfill His purposes in your life.
God called Jeremiah to be a prophet to the nations, but he had a very limited understanding of what God could do through him. He saw himself as a young man, unable to speak with authority. The enormity of the task before him … of being a prophet and speaking as God’s spokesman to the nations … was beyond what he perceived himself capable of doing.
Always remember, whenever God chooses and calls anyone, He never makes a mistake! Whoever you are, and whatever He calls you to do, He will empower and equip you with the divine enablement to accomplish His purposes.
