THE WORLD IS STRUGGLING TO UNDERSTAND WHY
“As explosions and gunfire thundered through the halls, Cassie Bernall closed her eyes and clasped her hands in prayer. One of the killers pointed a shotgun at her and asked if she believed in God. She said, “Yes … ” and then he killed her. According to one student whose life was barely spared, “It was like they were having the time of their life.”
On April 20, 1999, two students went on a shooting rampage at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. In chaos and smoke, they stole the lives of twelve students, one teacher, and wounded twenty-three others before turning their guns on themselves. It has now been nearly twenty years since this tragic incident. There have been many tragedies in the past and since. Nearly two weeks ago, a school shooting at Santa Fe High school in Texas, once again shook the nation. In the last five months, there have been 28 school shootings in the United States. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of these massacres.
Each incident recirculates the same probing questions and an endless search for difficult answers. What could possibly motivate these young students to carry out such heinous acts? Could it be that all the violence we are witnessing today, especially from the young people, is a direct consequence of entire generations turning their backs on God?
Ever since Lucifer and all the angels that sided with him were cast down from heaven to earth, their goal has always been to cause God’s children to reject Him and His ways. Western culture has departed from God. Satan has successfully removed God from secular schools. Television, music, social media, and the internet are constant distractions and have made the family—especially the young people—extremely vulnerable to ungodly influences of the mass media.
The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and, behold it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
Genesis 6:11—12
Positive change will not come unless society turns to God for help. We are sitting at the brink of the greatest outpouring of the Spirit of God the world has ever known; but at the same time, we are also sitting on the brink of the greatest battle with Satan the family has ever known.
Today’s society as a whole has abandoned our spiritual, God-centered heritage, and switched to a man-centered culture that excludes God and His laws. Such noble qualities as integrity, honor, character, reverence, humility, generosity, civility, and compassion were virtues encouraged and commended by God for all people. For centuries, our laws were established according to God’s standards. Our morality was judged according to the Word of God. But, that is no longer the case!
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
James 4:7
Today, God-fearing parents, grandparents, and family members must spend a great deal of time in prayer … protecting the minds and hearts of our children from all the ungodly influences that surround them.
Train up your child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:6
Furthermore, the family is the center of ministry. We’ve often heard, “A family that prays together stays together.” We strongly encourage every family to spend time in prayer. Establish a regular time to come together, for prayer and to share God’s Word. If you want to influence your family, you must go the extra mile to understand them and establish a relationship with them. If you want them to listen to you, you must first listen to them.
A MOTHER’S ADVICE FOR THE FAMILY … STRAIGHT FROM “MAMA’S” HEART
As we speak from my heart, “Papa’s” heart … I’d like to also include the wisdom of my anointed soulmate and wife, Theresa, or “Mama” … to share what God has placed in her heart. She is an ardent advocate of traditional family values, and spends much time on her knees praying for the needs of families. Open your spirit to receive something special … I know you will be blessed!
“The young people of this nation are desperately searching for the REAL thing! We need to take our masks off! Our children need to see us seek God with all of our hearts, each and every day. We need to let them know how important Jesus is to us … how important His plan is in our lives. We need to scream through active, living examples what it is to know Him in the power of His resurrection. Without godly parents, without godly role models in their families, they are forced to find their answers elsewhere.”

It is no wonder Satan has, since the beginning of time, done everything in his power to corrupt, pervert, and destroy the traditional family structure ordained and structured by God.

Jesus destroyed the works of Satan … He settled it on Calvary! Now it’s up to you to rise up in the Spirit, and use the authority to put Satan in his place … UNDER YOUR FEET!
It is God’s will that you and your family function according to His divine plan. It is God’s will that your family experience the fullness He originally intended you to have.
Right now, stop and think about the areas of your family life where you are living below God’s original plan and purpose. You may be facing problems with communication, a wayward son or daughter, a struggling marriage, death of a spouse, or lack of family time … Whatever the problems may be that are hindering you and your family from enjoying God’s best, make up your mind right now that you will overcome them in the Name of Jesus.
When you pray, I encourage you to invoke the power of the Holy Spirit, release the righteous fire of God, and bind the spirit of secular humanism! Loose the spirit of family unity!
Say this faith declaration out loud: “Lord, I pray over my family. I pray over the minds, hearts, and spirits of our youth. In Jesus’ Name, we pray.”
