  • Every temptation is an opportunity for victory.

Temptation is Satan’s objective. He is the tempter. It is his voice that tries to lead you astray. If you are tempted with something, come against it by saying, “In the Name of Jesus Christ, I command that thought to leave my mind. I do not accept it.”

Beloved, YOU ARE A VICTOR; you do not have to be a victim. Rise up, realize who you are in Jesus, take your power and authority, and resist the devil, who will flee. Do not be seduced by his lies. He wants you to think that you are a nobody with no power. He wants you to feel helpless and defeated. He does not want you to know that through Christ, YOU ARE AN OVERCOMER!

Every time you are tempted with something that you know is not right, practice saying, “NO!” Every time that you refuse to comply with the devil’s temptations, you grow stronger. You are a warrior-in-training. Before long, recognizing the devil’s tactics will be easier, and resisting him will be so much simpler.

The truth is that temptations will always come, but Jesus changed temptation from an occasion for defeat to an opportunity for victory. He was tempted by the devil, resisted him, and won. He was tempted in all the same ways that we are, but He did not sin. He has made the way for us to be able to endure temptation without sinning.

Every temptation is an opportunity for the child of God to overcome the power of the enemy and to rise up triumphantly in the power of God. Paul said:

But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

Galatians 6:14

When Jesus went to the cross, He took upon Himself every accusation, every temptation, every sickness, every rebellion, every murder, hatred, greed, covetousness, and anything else we could name. He took it all. Jesus bore it all. Through the cross, you are free from all sin, sickness, disease, and the past. You are a free person. You are free from the devil’s power and from sin’s power. YOU ARE FREE!

When you feel an urge to do something that you know is contrary to God’s Word, realize that God will not make an exception just for you. His Word is for everybody, and it stands for all time. He does not make exceptions for certain people while holding everybody else to another standard.

It is vital that you know the voice of God. Renew your mind with the washing of the water of the Word. Present your body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God (Romans 12:1). If you don’t present your body to God, it is going to try to pull you back to the old kingdom.

Say this faith declaration out loud: Father, through Jesus, I am triumphant over all the wiles of the devil. As long as I act on Your Word, the devil cannot defeat me. Every time I say “no” to temptation, I grow stronger and stronger. I am becoming a great warrior in and for Christ. Hallelujah!

Scripture Reading:

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

I Corinthians 10:13

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Hebrews 4:15

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

James 4:7

But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.

James 1:14-16, NKJV
