Part of beginning to walk in the anointing of God that leads you to the power of God’s New Beginnings, is knowing the power of the blood of Jesus. Today, more than ever, the Church downplays the importance and the power of the blood of Jesus. However, to be victorious in God and to stand in righteousness and holiness before Him, you must have a revelation of the blood of Jesus and what that blood does for you every day. Teaching on the blood of Jesus has become more and more unpopular as other teachings appeal more to the masses of Christianity on philosophical and psychological topics. But we’re going back to the basics…back to the roots of our faith. We’re going to begin to walk in the power of the blood of Jesus and renew our righteousness so that we can walk in God’s New Beginnings!

THE BLOOD SPEAKS!

The blood of Jesus that has been applied to your life since the very moment of your salvation cleanses you from sin, but also plays a very active role in your life from that moment on.

The blood of Jesus has a voice that speaks. God establishes this very early in the Bible that all blood speaks. Notice what God spoke to Cain after he killed Abel:

And he said, What bast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.

Genesis 4:10

Abel’s blood cried out to God with a supernatural voice. Obviously, blood does not make a naturally audible noise, but in the spiritual realm, God has given it a quality of voice that can cry out from the earth unto God.

If the blood of an ordinary man like Abel can speak to God after Abel’s death, how much more can the blood of Jesus speak to God about you or me today?

As you go about your daily life, the blood of Jesus is speaking boldly about you. It is testifying to God that you belong to Him through the sacrifice that Jesus made. It tells the devil that we belong to God and not to him!

The blood of Jesus is an active agent that opens our hearts and minds up to new things, and the force of God’s New Beginnings comes alive in us.

And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye area and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
Exodus 12:13

The blood of a sacrificial lamb represented the atoning blood of Jesus before Moses lead the children of Israel out of Egypt. God sent a death angel to Egypt to kill the firstborn in any house in which the blood was not applied to the doorway as God had instructed Moses.

The blood of the lambs sacrificed for this purpose spoke to God in proxy of the blood of Christ, and spared the lives of the firstborn in each house. In a representation of Christ, the blood of animals was given a voice to speak to God on behalf of the children of Israel.

THE BLOOD IS SACRED

God began to teach the children of Israel very early on that the blood was sacred. Even the meat of the animals they ate had to be drained of its blood, which was its life:

Only ye shall not eat the blood; ye shall pour it upon the earth as water.
Deuteronomy 12:16

This attitude toward blood was reinforced time and time again with the Israelites.

Only be sure that thou eat not the blood: for the blood is the life; and thou mayest not eat the life with the flesh.
Deuteronomy 12:23

The sacred nature of blood began to permeate Israelite society to the point that they began to understand the redemptive quality of blood.

When they began sacrificing animals as atonement for sin, the blood was already considered sacred to them.

As a type and shadow of the New Testament and the blood of Jesus, the blood of these sacrifices spoke of a New Beginning with God.

When Judas betrayed Jesus centuries later, the sacred nature of blood was still a factor in Jewish society:

Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that. And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.
Matthew 27:3-6

The chief priests knew that the money given Judas was the price of the blood of Jesus. All the money in the world cannot buy what the blood of Jesus purchased for you and me, so the money was unclean.

The priests ended up purchasing a field to bury strangers in as a charity with the money Judas was paid and returned. They did not want to put the money back into the treasury, because it was used as the price to cause Judas to betray the blood of Jesus.

This sacred nature of the blood of Christ is as real today as ever. Only days after the priests paid Judas to betray Jesus, the blood of Jesus began purchasing the New Beginning you and I need today!

THE BLOOD IS PROPHETIC

As God spoke through the prophet Joel about what was to come in the end times, He used turning the moon into blood as a representation of one of the frightening things that was going to happen in the world before the end of time.

And I will chew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.
Joel 2:30-31

Blood here has a prophetic significance as an agent of judgment to the nations during a time of tribulation by God. A constant reminder to those below, of the redemptive nature of Jesus that they rejected, the moon will reflect the color of blood over the earth.

As blood is the very precious thing we crave for redemption, when rejected, it becomes a reminder of the judgment to come.

THE BLOOD OF JESUS HAS REDEMPTIVE POWER

There are probably more songs about the blood of Jesus than we could count today, and yet they are sung less and less as time passes.

Preaching today deals with much psychology about self-esteem and acceptance and less and less on the redemptive power of the blood of Jesus.

As the Old Testament saints saw blood as having atoning power, the New Testament saints saw it as their very spiritual life. Jesus set the pattern as he served the last supper.

And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body. And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it. And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.
Mark 14:22-24

As Christians all over the world take communion, we are proclaiming the redemptive power of Jesus. We are receiving spiritually the blood of Jesus and identifying ourselves with its redemptive power. Our old self laden with sin is taken away and we are ready for New Beginnings with Jesus Christ.

However, this redemption began much earlier as Jesus began to shed His blood in a very different way:

And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
Luke 22:44

Jesus did not begin the atonement on the cross, he began it in the Garden of Gethsemane. As He prayed to the Father and sought His perfect will for all of mankind, He became completely willing to suffer and die a horrible death that He might liberate us from sin and our past.

In His agonizing prayer in which He understood His blood must be shed for our sins, He became so burdened that He began bleeding through the pores of His skin. He began bleeding so that you and I could live in a victorious, miraculous life of New Beginnings!

Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
John 6:53-56

Even as Jesus walked among them, many people did not understand what he meant by drinking His blood and eating His flesh. In their simple, natural minds, they were appalled at what seemed to them as cannibalism because they were so carnally minded.

Those who continued following Jesus may have not understood the power of the blood or how one would go about “eating” or “drinking” it, but they knew that with God all things were possible.

Jesus was not speaking of cannibalism, He was speaking of life!

But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
John 19:34

As the blood and water flowed from the body of Jesus, the significance of His blood in the redemptive process was established. The blood that was spilled on the ground after the body of Jesus was pierced, held the sacred power God had been training the children of Israel to recognize all along.

The power of the blood of Jesus erases your sinful past.

It erases failures. It erases pain.

It erases sin.

It erases scars.

The power of the blood of Jesus puts you into perfect preparation for the force of God’s New Beginnings to come to pass in your life.

Notice how the blood was used in the Old Testament:

And he shall kill the bullock before the LORD and the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall bring the blood, and sprinkle the blood round about upon the altar that is by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
Leviticus 1:5

Then, the blood was applied to the altar, but now, Jesus has become the perfect, willing sacrifice, and His blood is applied to us! He has become the very substance that fulfills the just demands of God. His blood has become the propitiation.

THE BLOOD OF JESUS BRINGS TOTAL JUSTIFICATION

As we are in need not just for our sins to be forgiven, but to be completely justified as a person, the blood of Jesus has the power to renew our life to the extent that, to God, we’ve never sinned.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God bath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
Romans 3:23-25

This Scripture shows us that when we receive justification and forgiveness through the sacrifice of the blood of Jesus, we are also testifying of the righteousness of Jesus Christ Himself. We are saying…

We are made righteous because He is righteous!

We are made holy because He is holy!

We are made worthy because He is worthy!

At this point, we no longer worry about self-acceptance or self-esteem. We know that all our worth is because of His worth. All our righteousness…all our holiness is due to His righteousness and holiness.

We are set free from performance orientation. We are set free from the past and ready for a New Beginning in God.

THE BLOOD OF JESUS GIVES YOU THE BOLDNESS FOR A NEW BEGINNING!

The blood of Jesus takes away your timidity to approach God for the things you need to activate the force of God’s New Beginnings in your life. To come boldly before God’s throne, we have to come covered in the blood of Jesus. In this manner, Jesus, Himself, stands behind our petition to God.

Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
Hebrews 10:19

The level of intimacy with God that we have because of the blood of Jesus is unimaginable any other way. The rights we have to request, and receive, from God could never have been achieved unless we have received the blood of Jesus.

No matter what is preached or what is in style in our Church circles today, we will never walk in the fullness of God until we obtain the boldness to approach God intimately through the blood of Jesus.

God wants to take you into the next realm of power for your life. He wants to bring you out of your past and into a place where the force of God’s New Beginnings is powerfully active in your life.

God wants to bring you into a place where the past can never hinder you…

…a place where failure never hovers over you…

…a place where fmancial needs do not overwhelm you…

…a place where sins of the past are erased forever…

…a place where you receive the power of Jesus’ blood…

Right now, as you are studying this lesson, pray this prayer with me:

Dear Father, please open up my heart to the New Beginning You have prepared for me. Allow me to sever myself from my past life and walk with You into the power of the Blood of Jesus. I receive this into my life right now and accept everything you have for me. I pray in the Name of Jesus. Amen!
